the midnight shorts showcase beginning @ 11 p.m. at the alamo ritz 2 has some notable selections; food for thought poses abstinence punishments, i live in the woods looks really interesting including outdoor stop-motion animation, and receive bacon is "a raunchy bathroom tryst ... interrupted by an unfortunate case of the giggles." treevenge is a jason eisener short, and this young director won robert rodriguez's sxsw grindhouse trailer competition, real curious to see the trees reciprocating revenge. warm and fuzzy feeling is "a warm and fuzzy treat for grandma."
zombie film? pontypool looks entertaining on the surface, but could be a disappointment like half of the zombie films ever made. political satire, social climates, and the basic fear of every body going ape sh%#, so we still have to give pontypool a chance. not to mention this is a chance to see stephen mchattie (nite owl in the anticipated watchmen) in another role. showing @ 11:30 p.m. lamar 1.

black has famous french actor, mc jean gab'1, playing the hero as opposed to the villian. i've never heard of him, but a self described "blacksplotation" film consisting of elements such as "black magic, ... mutant arms dealers, ... and a truckload of knuckle sandwiches" screams a well spent 2 hours. fantastic fest selection showing @ 11:59 p.m. alamo lamar 2.
